So many of life's struggles are caused by a lack of preparation caused by a broken education system. VIVA was born in 2018 as a way to remedy this. What started as a weekly class about leadership with 5 students, today is a community center with about 30 classes per year and over 100 students. We also have a cultural center with art expositions, a library, a study center with iced coffee, and space for local artisans to sell their work.

Using alternative education, we focus on preparing students for life, rather than simply a job. Experts in their fields volunteer their time and knowledge to offer interactive 12 week courses about things that are relevant for the lives of our students. Visit our classes page to see what we're learning this semester. We also offer individual and family counseling, and talks about things that help us understand the world better. Contact us to find out more.

We want our city to be reached by a safe place, an open community, and the growth that VIVA offers. We want people to understand the value they have and for them to know the importance of sharing knowledge because knowledge is power. We want to offer equal opportunity through arts, literature, and connections between people who want to make the world a better place.

At VIVA, we believe everyone has something to offer and that we should all practice sharing and learning from each other a little more. If you would like to teach a class a VIVA, offer a talk about a subject you know well, or serve in any other way, contact us to tell us more about what you can bring to the table. If you would like to help us financially in this life-transforming work, use the donate button at the top of the page. Be part of of this small, safe, and welcoming community that recognizes that we still have a lot to learn.
